Waypoint 01 · The idea
What is a Strategy Stroll?
A Strategy Stroll is a networking event with the walls taken off. Instead of a conference room, we meet at a trailhead. Instead of working the room, you walk a gentle loop with people who think like you do - founders, freelancers, leaders and locals who would rather move than mingle.
Walking side by side does something a table never will. The pressure of eye contact disappears, the pace sets a rhythm, and conversation simply flows. You arrive with a hello and leave with ideas, allies and a clear head.
Meet
Gather at the meeting point near the cafe for a quick welcome from your facilitators. Prompt start at 09:30.
Walk & talk
The group sets off with attendees walking in pairs or 3s for focused networking chats, swapping walking buddies every 10 minutes. Approx 30 mins.
Problem-Solving Pow-Wow
Our signature group think tank session. Got a challenge or question? Bring it to the group for fresh ideas and honest input. Approx 30 mins.
Walk & talk
Back into pairs or threes for more networking, swapping every 10 minutes. Approx 30 mins.
Total time: 90 minutes
Waypoint 02 · Our aims
Why we walk
Three simple beliefs sit behind every stroll - and every one of them works better outdoors.
Conversations that flow
Side by side beats face to face. Walking removes the interview feeling, so people talk honestly about what they are building, stuck on, or dreaming up.
Thinking that loosens
Movement and fresh air unjam problems that desks will not. Most people solve something on a stroll - their own puzzle, or somebody else's.
Connections that stick
You remember the person you walked a mile with far longer than a handshake at a drinks do. Our aim is a local network built on real ground.

Upcoming strolls
Places are limited so the group stays small enough for everyone to actually meet. Bring comfortable shoes, a layer for the weather, and one thing you are working on. We will sort the rest.
Waypoint 04 · Who's leading
Your facilitators
Strategy Strolls is led by two people who would always rather meet on a footpath than across a desk. There is a good story about how we met and decided to swap meeting rooms for the outdoors - we will tell it properly here soon.
Ruth Trimbitas
Co-founder & facilitator
Ruth spent twenty years working in HR across multiple industries, culminating in Director-level roles with international remit. Following the birth of her first child, she made the decision to leave corporate HR behind and retrain completely, qualifying as a Nutritional Therapist. Today she supports individuals through personalised nutritional therapy and works with businesses to embed strategically-focused nutrition and lifestyle wellbeing approaches that support their wider business aims. A mum of two and a keen gardener, Ruth has long appreciated the power of working and thinking outdoors, so Strategy Strolls feels to her like the perfect mix of business and enjoyment.
Johanna Staines
Co-founder & facilitator
Jo has spent the past twenty years working within life sciences across all sectors in diverse roles from hands-on bench research, running scientific labs and buildings, to leading multi-million-pound funding and strategy reviews. She stepped away from her previous role of Head of Strategy at a world-renowned genomics Institute to set up her own consultancy business supporting across Suffolk and Norfolk with strategy, funding and innovation. Jo has long appreciated the power of working and thinking outdoors, and as a mother to two young boys and daughter of a forester, spends an awful lot of time in the woods.
